Y. Matties, Ph.D.

Dr. Ying Matties is a skilled biomedical Indexer currently working on the Cygnus MEDLINE contract for the National Library of Medicine, NIH. With a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Dr. Matties also supported Cygnus with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases contract as a Chemical Subject Matter Expert. While assisting with research at Georgetown University Medical School, Dr. Matties developed three-dimensional chemical database searching techniques using Chem-X.

Since her research at Georgetown, Ying has taught both Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at the college level, been a part of the Executive Board of a Parent Teacher Association, and continues to remain active as a member of the Community Advisory Council to her county’s school system.

She has two decades of indexing and abstracting experience and is one of Cygnus’s top-producers on the MEDLINE contract; we wish we could duplicate her.
