Cygnus supported the meetings of the Patient Safety Research Coordinating Center, which assisted in the management of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) patient safety portfolio.
A major task was to support an annual 2-day meeting of approximately 350 participants, primarily directors of patient safety research projects. The great majority of those research projects were funded by AHRQ with a small subset of workplace projects funded by Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA). Diverse Cygnus activities included: securing meeting space and hotel rooms; preregistration and onsite registration; attendance tracking; catering; working with presenters; developing and producing meeting materials; and supplying a technical writer for detailed minutes and evaluations.
