Practice Area Approach

The criminal and juvenile justice practice area at Cygnus Corporation provides a wide range of services by using a group of experienced and committed professionals, some of whom are introduced in the following section, who individually and collectively have spent many years fostering improvements in the adult and juvenile justice systems. Systems change and continuous organizational improvement can best be achieved through defining a collective vision of an organization's purpose and its mission. From that collective vision, the organization can then allocate its limited resources (human and other capital) most effectively only after it determines the most pressing issues to be addressed--those issues most critical to attaining the organization's mission. To further ensure the most effective use of resources, the organization must select those methods, interventions, or system changes most appropriate to the issues. Finally, evaluation and analysis of organizational outcomes provide the driving force for additional system improvement.

The Justice Group at Cygnus Corporation assists public and private organizations to define and achieve their goals and objectives by providing needs assessment, policy analysis, operations support, and systems review and analysis; delivering technical assistance and training; and developing thorough process and outcome evaluations.
