Cygnus helps government agencies meet their learning, leadership, and organizational development goals. We guide decisions about learning tools and resources that empower agencies to retain talented employees, support agencywide mentoring programs, and design, develop, implement, and manage professional training courses and workshops.
Publication Development, Management, and Production
Cygnus produces a variety of publications. We support our clients’ publication projects from initial concept to finished product—helping them communicate effectively by conceptualizing the content and format of documents; conducting background research; writing scientific, technical, and programmatic documents; translating information for lay audiences; conducting author liaison; copyediting, editing, and proofreading content and adhering to professional style guides; providing word processing and desktop publishing services; designing creative and effective graphics; managing the production, printing, and assembly process; and preparing and managing required publication clearance activities.
Scientific and Technical Services
We help clients design and maintain technical, scientific, and health databases; conduct customized literature searches and prepare literature reviews and syntheses; provide indexing, abstracting, and related library services; standardize data entry and database structures; and perform scientific programming and bioinformatics analyses.
Cygnus has developed and operated call centers and clearinghouses for government agencies—performing research to develop information and materials for requesters; responding to direct inquiries from the public and research and government organizations; and managing fulfillment operations.
Event Management
Cygnus plans flawless events for government and private clients. We offer services that facilitate every aspect of event planning and management from initial planning to execution and followup. Our portfolio of successful events includes conferences, workshops, symposia, seminars, committee meetings, grant review cycles, advisory panel sessions, and exhibit presentations—the number of participants at our events has ranged from 20 to 4,000.
Program Evaluation and Survey Research
Our social scientists, epidemiologists, survey researchers, program evaluators, biostatisticians, and medical and health professionals provide the expertise to design and conduct needs assessment, program evaluation, and scientific research. We prepare sampling designs and develop survey instruments; conduct telephone, mail, in-person, and Web-based surveys; abstract, synthesize, and analyze data records; create and maintain large-scale research and analytical databases; perform advanced statistical analysis; and prepare technical reports, journal articles, and conference papers on research results.
Communications and Marketing
Cygnus develops and executes marketing plans to promote health and social services. We have conducted market research; developed outreach strategies, public information campaigns, and health education programs; crafted taglines and brand identity packages, public service announcements, posters, exhibits, and publications; identified target populations for conducting intercept interviews, key person interviews, and focus groups; and evaluated marketing strategies and materials.
